Fatigue and low energy
Tiredness can come from sleep, stress, nutrition, illness and more. A selected panel can add data to a workup for tiredness that has no clear cause, next to your history and exam.
Low energy, poor sleep or slow recovery can have many causes. Selected lab panels add measured data, and we read every result alongside your exam and history.
Overview
Maybe you sleep a full night and still wake up tired. Maybe your energy, mood or recovery changed, and nothing you have tried explains it.
Lab testing adds numbers to that picture. It is one of the wellness services we offer in Rancho Santa Fe. We choose a panel that fits your concern, then read each result with your history and exam.

What it is
Lab testing measures selected markers, such as hormones or neurotransmitter-related compounds, in a sample like blood or urine. At True Performance, a test is recommended only when it can add useful data, and every result is read alongside your symptoms, history and exam findings.

We review your concern, history, medicines and supplements.
We choose a panel and explain how and when to collect the sample.

The re-check
When a repeat test would help, we compare it with your first result and your symptoms. If a finding needs medical or endocrine follow-up, we tell you.
It shows the level of each hormone in the panel at the moment the sample was taken. Some hormones change through the day. Cortisol, for example, is usually highest in the morning, so collection timing matters.
A reference range is the span of results seen in large groups of healthy people. Food, medicines, supplements, hard exercise and the menstrual cycle can all shift a result.
So a number outside the range may or may not point to a health problem. We read it in context before it changes anything in your plan.
How reference ranges work is explained in the MedlinePlus guide to understanding lab results.
Daily changes in cortisol are described in the MedlinePlus cortisol test overview.
Conditions
Each panel is chosen for your concern. These are the areas testing most often adds data to.
Tiredness can come from sleep, stress, nutrition, illness and more. A selected panel can add data to a workup for tiredness that has no clear cause, next to your history and exam.
Levels shift with the menstrual cycle, perimenopause and menopause. We read results with your cycle timing and stage of life.
Changes in energy, sleep, body composition or recovery can prompt a panel. Age and medicines shape the result.
Stress hormones change with sleep, exercise and the time of day, so each value is a snapshot.
These can add context to focus, sleep or mood concerns, as supporting data only.
Why here
We pick panels based on your concern, age, history and medicines, so every marker answers a real question.
Each report is reviewed with your symptoms, exam findings and collection timing, not as an isolated number.
If a result calls for care outside our scope, we say so and suggest medical or endocrine follow-up.
Other options
Your primary care physician can order many standard blood tests, and that is often the right first step. Our panels are chosen to add data to a rehabilitation, recovery or performance plan.
Is it for you
If one of these applies, we talk it through first and coordinate with your physician when needed.
Your visits
A complimentary call about your concern and whether testing may help.
We go over your symptoms, history, medicines, supplements and past results, then suggest a panel if one fits.
You get clear instructions on timing and preparation, such as fasting, before the sample is collected.
We go over your results with you and how they fit your plan.
Cost
Cost depends on the panel chosen. Lab testing is priced separately from the comprehensive exam, and we share current pricing before anything is ordered.

The clinic
A lab value means more when it is tied to how you feel, move, think and recover. Our team reads results next to your spinal and nervous system findings, your physical or cognitive performance, and qEEG data when you have it.
Lab testing is one part of the whole-person care at our Rancho Santa Fe wellness center. Book an appointment to find out whether a panel fits your question.

It can give useful data when the sample is collected correctly. Urine and blood levels do not measure brain activity directly, so we use results as supporting information alongside your symptoms and exam.
Follow the instructions for your panel, which may include fasting or collecting at a set time. Tell us about every medicine and supplement you take, since they can affect results.
No. A single result is one piece of data, never the full answer. If a finding needs medical or endocrine follow-up, we tell you and coordinate with your physician.
