Physical Rehabilitation Center in Rancho Santa Fe, CA

A stiff back, a sore knee or pain that runs down your leg can change how you move all day. We find what is driving it, then build a plan to help you move with less pain.

The center

Physical rehabilitation at True Performance is care for musculoskeletal pain and injury, meaning problems in the muscles, joints and spine. It is chiropractic- and rehabilitation-led, not a physical therapy practice. After a detailed exam, we combine hands-on care and exercise with tools such as Class IV laser therapy and peripheral nerve stimulation, coordinated with your physician.

Most people come to this center with back, neck, knee or shoulder pain, or after a spinal injury. Others come because pain has changed how they walk, work or train.

The center is one part of a single Rancho Santa Fe clinic for rehab and performance care.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

Peripheral nerve stimulation sends a mild electrical current through pads on the skin to activate selected nerves. There is no surgery, no implant and no medication, and most people feel tingling or gentle pulsing.

We use it for nerve-related pain. For people working to regain balance, coordination, and movement after a stroke or head injury, often in coordination with their medical providers, we can time it with walking or balance exercises. Learn how skin-pad nerve stimulation is used in rehab.

How it works

How care works here

  1. We find the source

Your first visit is about 90 minutes, plus data and history gathering. We check the painful area, posture, strength, nerve signs and how you move.

  2. We match the tools

The findings set the mix of hands-on care, laser, nerve stimulation and exercise. Sciatica and a stiff shoulder need different starting points.

  3. We re-check and adjust

We track your pain and movement as you go. When they change, the plan and the exercises change with them.

The clinic

Why choose True Performance

Back and joint pain often changes how you sit, walk, lift and train. Our exam looks at that whole chain, so care aims at what drives the pain as well as where it hurts.

Hands-on care, laser, nerve stimulation and exercise sit in one clinic and are planned together. For brain rehab, wellness and athlete care as well, see every kind of care our clinic offers.

Questions

Questions about the physical rehabilitation center

Ask us: (858) 285-0073

Is this the same as physical therapy?

No. Our care is chiropractic- and rehabilitation-led, and we are not a physical therapy practice. We use hands-on care, exercise and tools such as laser and nerve stimulation, and we coordinate with your physician.

Which symptoms need urgent care before rehab?

New weakness, trouble walking, numbness that spreads down an arm or leg, or loss of bladder or bowel control need urgent medical care first. After a serious fall or crash, get checked before you book. We start rehab once serious injury is ruled out.

How soon after an injury can I start?

Once serious injury is ruled out, care can start gently and build from there. A fresh sprain and a years-old back problem need different starting points, and your exam sets the pace.

Will I get exercises to do between visits?

Often, yes. When your exam shows that strength or mobility work will help, we give you a short set to practice between visits.

How much does physical rehabilitation cost?

It depends on your exam, the number of visits and which tools your plan uses. We explain cost on your complimentary 15-minute intro call, before you book an exam.
